Gold Coast University Hospital

Project:

Gold Coast University Hospital

Location:

Gold Coast, Queensland

Project Details:

From October 2009 through to October 2011, Hymix delivered over 81,000m3 creating the new $1.76 billion, 750 bed Gold Coast University Hospital. This state of the art health facility is designed to cope with the extraordinary population growth in South East Queensland.

Hymix’s commitment to Premium Service and Support ensured accurate administration throughout the project. With weekly delivery and NATA accredited testing reports along with on-site coordination through our dedicated sales team, Hymix are Committed to making business easy.

From 1200m3 pours with 3 pumps to High Strength – Low Heat concrete for the X Ray Radiation Bunker, Hymix Major Project Manager John Gill believes this project had it all. “We poured over 1000m3 for the Radiation Bunker in one pour keeping the temperature of the concrete below 30 degrees”, John says.

“Our Product Technical Manager Kevin Galvin designed a mix to be below 30 degrees C. and achieve 40mpa in 56 days. This product’s high density made this mix ideal for this application”.

Lend Lease Project Engineer Darren Chow said, “Hymix have provided excellent support in the areas of administration, supply and delivery”.

“I would highly recommend Hymix for future projects with Lend Lease”.

With the expected opening set for the 2nd half of 2013, Hymix are committed to Building Partnerships and are proud to work alongside Lend Lease to deliver the Gold Coast University Hospital.
